A very Merry Mishmash to you all! I'm ever grateful for your company and wish you all the best for the season. I wish I could have done something a little more Christmas special for you too, but with my family 'tis the season for mayhem! XD
Replacement or repair for my bedroom door. One plank's broken through (not my doing). The crack swells in some weather. It makes the door hard to close, the locks hard to turn and has given me a splinter or two. Who done broke it ought to replace it. Or fix it, whichever, but I want a smoothly functioning door.
I finished my NaNoWriMo an hour or so ago, so now I can go back to writing SOLDIER porn.;p 50093, my first NaNo win ever and a real first for me to turn off the editing voice for a while and just let the plot roll. I hope that's not carpal tunnel syndrome I feel setting in. And I'm tired but in a good way.
In other news, one should not whack a Terry's chocolate orange against one's own head. It's not the chocolate that will come undone.

I've been going through my WIP folder, trying to make a dent in my expansive fic list. I don't exactly miss the years when I wrote one fic and only one fic because it's easy to burn out on the idea that way, but this helter-skelter scattershot approach isn't much better for productivity. One plot bunny spawns another and it never ends. I get plenty of entertainment, but there's little substance, and I finally have enough energy to spare to start missing that. Now that hooker!Gen is more or less happily strutting his stuff, next on the list are a monster hunt story, an Aeriseph+Gen/Angeal that wants to be more complicated than originally planned, some shameless kink meme smut, a first-time fic, the massive PoS re-read, way too much for the Mission!verse and maybe a little family something for that spooky day at the end of the month. That's just the top few. If I complete the whole list I might scare myself out of it.
Sometimes the best approach is to just pick one and stick with it. It's a grey, rainy day. Let's see what wins the 'Write Me!' race.
I've never put down in words my own experience of 9/11. The 'real me' still maintains only a rather bare semi-professional presence online. 'Ardwynna' was in her public infancy after years of anonymous lurking in fandom and I wasn't sure yet how much of my non-fandom life I wanted to attach. My 9/11 experience certainly wasn't the most harrowing and some of what I think about it is likely to get a certain kind of person very angry. But for my own sake more than anyone else's, and for the possible benefit of 'Bob', as I call my potentially-personal CIA internet tracker, I'm recording my own little sliver of experience here.
